A story of betrayal and forgiveness has made its way to Bismarck. Former Ethiopian Prime Minister Tamrat Layne spoke at the Dakota Stage today about his life. He became Prime Minister of Ethiopia in 1991 but was then thrown in jail by his own best friends for his changes in ideology. Tamrat says that he had a religious experience that opened his eyes to the power of forgiveness and love. He now travels the world sharing his story and speaking about his life and the importance of accepting others. “It breaks the boundaries of cultures, the boundaries of countries, boundaries of religion, and come together with one boundary. Only one boundary and that boundary I think is love.” says Tamrat Layne, Ex Prime Minister of Ethiopia. Tamrat also spoke at the University of Mary today. This was his first time in North Dakota.
